Come join us for an incredible fishing trip on our super stable 34-foot catamaran, The Katilak. We’re sure you’ve heard all about the fishing around Kodiak, as well as the amazing wildlife viewing but until you’ve experienced it, you just can’t fathom how epic it really is!
THE FISHING
In case you’ve been living under a rock and did zero research on Kodiak fishing, let’s sum it up in 3 words. Good, Great, Wow! Whether we’re chasing Halibut, Salmon, Ling Cod, Rockfish or any of the other species that inhabit Alaskan waters, Kodiak is top of the list for them all. All of our trips are multi-species trips, where we target halibut, rockfish and whatever happens to be in season at the time. We are not one of those guys that says” We’ve got our limit; it’s time to go home”. If(when) we limit out on one species, we are on to the next. We offer 5, 8, and 10hr trips, depending on your goals and what’s in season.
WHAT WE CAN CATCH
The waters surrounding Kodiak teem with life. The big prize is Pacific Halibut. Ranging from 5-400 LBS. these fish offer a great fight and delicious table fare. Salmon, Kodiak offers great salmon fishing for King Salmon, Silver(Coho), Pink and Red(Sockeye), depending on the time of year you visit. Lingcod season opens July1st. These prehistoric looking beasts hang out around rockpiles and seamounts. Caught while bouncing jigs on or near the bottom, hang on tight when one of these fellows attack your lure! Rockfish tend to hang out with the lingcod. There are many different species of Rockfish in our waters, one thing they all have in common is they’re awesome eating. Gray Cod, the staple for fish and chips. Often caught while targeting halibut, they are a great way to add some poundage to your catch.
With so many fish, you will want to clear some freezer space, before you come!
